I thought about going for a run today or maybe a walk. I did get out in the garden for a bit while the sun shone for a short while after the school run, but it didn’t last long. Luckily I managed to get the small tree (not sure what type or where it came from) down and all cut up to go in our garden waste bin. I made a bit of a start on getting rid of weeds and getting the garden ready for winter. I felt fairly virtuous for doing all that.
With some practical, physical work done, I retreated inside. I’ve been hard at it working since, but I’m no longer tempted to go for a walk. It’s a wet, damp day that I can imagine the wet would seep into your bones if you were out in it too long. I’ve had productive day and got a few jobs done that have been waiting for action for a while now and it feels good. I’m up to date with my work, well sort of anyway. I’m meeting my deadlines and I’m not feeling up against it. There’s more jobs to do of course, but this is a day when I am getting there.
I think though it’s also a day that is better spent inside, but I do hope tomorrow is a better day for getting outside. I would like to do something active outside, but I’ll admit to being a fair weather exerciser. What do you do on days that are better spent inside? Do you wrap up and force yourself to go out and get some fresh air? Or do you embrace the situation and make the most of being snug and warm inside? Or do you resent the situation, but don’t really make the best of it?
